Hello, beautiful individual casually scrolling my website, my name is Ava J & I am the person behind AvaJPhoto.

A little run down of who I am-

I am 23 years old and I have 3 rescue fur babies that are my entire world! I also have a fantastic partner who is my biggest supporter, at times he even makes an appearance at shoots to assist me! We are both total nerds at heart and love all things Marvel, Star Wars, and Gaming. Our current go-to game is Fortnite!

I really love all things creative. I have been involved in dance, theatre, art, writing, and so much more throughout my life. Photography has become my absolute favorite form of expression for the past 6 years. I love that there are really no limitations when it comes to photography. I love this craft and even more so love sharing it with you. Creating art for my own pleasure is one thing, but creating it for others is an entirely different level of joy. I love my clients and almost always work with them repeatedly. I am super outgoing and love hearing about what makes you, YOU! So if you are worried about awkward silence, no need, I will chat with you all day!

To understand my experience you first need the origin story!

I was professionally introduced to this industry at age 11 when I was signed with a modeling agency. I modeled professionally all throughout high school. While modeling a wise photographer suggested I pick up a camera to practice at home learning my angles, poses, finding my light, and understanding what the photographer sees at any given time in a shoot. So at age 15, I received my first DSLR camera and the passion exponentially grew from that moment on! I immediately enrolled in every photography class offered at my high school. I completed every Photography class, including film, which I also love. I even continued my education in college, and was certified in photography at the University of Utah!

Today, I have 6 years of experience 3 of which I have been shooting professionally. I also have 10 years of modeling experience which I leverage into your shoot to best coach you in posing throughout our session!
